Smartphones brought us great convenience, without them, it would be difficult for us to accomplish many things. Compared with other brands, Huawei mobile phones have irreplaceable advantages. Huawei mobile phones are well-known for their exquisite design, high-cost performance, and durability. Today I will share with you my personal experience of using Huawei P40.

Design and Appearance

The Huawei P40 smartphone is equipped with a transparent silicone phone case, a charger, a USB Type-A to Type-C data cable, paper clips, and in-ear headphones. On the whole, the accessories are relatively complete, we don’t need to purchase additional parts.

The phone has 3 colors: silver frost, black, blush gold, and each color looks good. I personally prefer silver because it looks more noble and elegant. This time, Huawei has added a matte process to the two color schemes of silver frost and blush gold, which has resulted in a matte body that has not appeared on the Huawei P series before. This not only increases the texture of the phone but also makes us feel more comfortable with the hold in hand. 

The four sides of the screen are smooth and beveled. The screen of Huawei P40 does not use the ‘Quad-curve Overflow Display’ like P40 Pro, it packs a pre-fitted screen protector, but it’s still very attractive. With its 148.9 x 71.06 x 8.50 mm size, the Huawei P40 becomes the smallest in the new P40 series trio by Huawei, which fits well to hold in our hands. The phone uses a 6.1-inch OLED screen, which looks larger and brighter and is very suitable to watch movies. Besides, there is a fingerprint sensor on the screen, which is much more convenient than a digital password. 

Performance

Huawei phones have never been inferior to any other phones in performance. The Huawei P40 is equipped with Kirin 990 5G processor and has 8 GB of RAM. This makes the phone run very fast and stable, allowing us to open multiple software and mobile games at the same time. We don’t have to worry about cell phone freezing, which greatly improved my favorability for it.

In terms of internal storage, we have two choices: 128 GB or 256 GB. At the same time, we can also use nano SD cards up to 256 GB to increase the memory capacity. Therefore, we can download a lot of software, videos, music, photos, etc. on the mobile phone without worrying about insufficient memory.

Camera

If there is one feature that makes Huawei P series smartphones stand out, it must be their photo technology. 

There are three cameras on the back of Huawei P40, all of them come from Leica, includes 50 Mpx f / 1.9 ultra vision camera, 16 Mpx f / 2.2 ultra-wide angles, as well as an 8 Mpx telephoto lens coupled with 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 30x digital zoom. At the same time, Huawei P40’s camera also supports multiple functions such as a voice-activated camera, timed camera, audio zoom, and super night view. In this way, the photos we take have super high resolution. This is undoubtedly a perfect phone for who like taking pictures.

Under bright, low-contrast lighting conditions, P40’s exposure is very accurate, and the photos presented are of a high standard. However, the P40 tends to be slightly underexposed in high-contrast scenes, and the color accuracy will be slightly affected.

P40 is equipped with Huawei’s largest sensor so far, which can capture a lot of details under high light and normal indoor lighting. Noise is usually well controlled, but it becomes more noticeable in backlit scenes and extremely low-light conditions.

The night mode of the P40 camera is very powerful. There is an ultra vision sensor in P40, even in the dark, we can take a fascinating night scene. Portrait mode is the strength of P40. This phone does a good job of separating the subject from the background, facial exposure is clear and accurate, and many details can be perfectly presented. P40 also has more advanced AI imaging technology. It cooperates with the ultra-high-definition camera to make portrait colors more abundant and accurate. Even in complex light conditions, can easily create and perfect character details.

In short, Huawei P40 has outstanding advantages in Huawei P series products. It has exquisite appearance and design, and super high-cost performance among all the Huawei sim free phones. For students and office workers, Huawei P40 is a good choice.
