Karachi: A passenger plane of Pakistan International Airlines crashed in the residential area of Karachi on Friday. This plane was coming from Lahore to Karachi. The plane’s engine failed about a kilometer from the airport and about a minute before landing. He caught fire and crashed before reaching Jinnah International Airport. There were 91 passengers and 7 crew members aboard the plane. These included 51 men, 31 women and 9 children.
According to Geo News, 13 bodies have been removed so far. Bank of Punjab President Zafar Masood also boarded the plane, though he is safe. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed grief over the accident and said that our priority now is relief and rescue operations.
The plane fell in the Model Colony’s Jinnah Garden area in Karachi. Many houses caught fire there. This area is also known as Malir. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan, the pilot informed the air traffic controller about the engine failure but lost contact just one minute before landing.
