July 30, 2020 (New Delhi) – US President Donald Trump on Thursday asked to delay the 2020 election, which is due ion November, over the ongoing pandemic outbreak.

‘’With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely, and safely vote???’’, said Trump from his official Twitter handle.

Trump criticized the recently suggested mail-in voting for November 2020 elections to avoid the crowds at the polling booths amid the pandemic outbreak.

The election is to be held on the first Tuesday in the month of November this year. The schedule can only be altered with the consent of Congress, which is difficult to execute in the Democratic-controlled house.

Donald Trump is reported lagging behind in his approval ratings and also in online polls survey to his Democratic counterpart Joe Bidden by 8 percentage points
