However, the Sensex declined in the first minute of trading. The Sensex was down 1068.75 points at 30,028.98 and the Nifty was down 313.60 points at 8,823.25 at the end of trading.

Worldwide markets closed with gains
Although Indian markets closed on Monday with a decline, other markets around the world were on the rise. The US market Dow Jones gained 3.85 percent to close at 911.95 points at 24,597.40. At the same time, the second US Nasdaq market gained 2.44 percent to close 220.27 points at 9,234.83. S&P, on the other hand, closed up 90.21 points at 2,953.91, up 3.15 percent.
