A senior doctor died in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday due to an infection with the corona virus. With this, the death toll from Covid-19 in the district has increased to 20. This is the first death of a doctor from Corona in Meerut. Dr. SK Garg, Principal of Medical College has confirmed this.
Seven more people, including the deceased doctor, were confirmed to be corona positive on Monday in Meerut. With this, the number of patients infected with Corona virus has increased to 334 in the district. According to the Health Department, a 73-year-old senior doctor resident of Vaishali Colony died in a private hospital when he was being taken to a medical college.
The department said that the doctor died due to heart failure on the way. Apart from these, among the people who have reported positive, one patient is from Khairnagar. Apart from this, there is a traveler from another state. At the same time, a youth working in a drug store in Khairnagar has also been confirmed to be Corona positive.
Dr. Rajkumar says that his samples were sent for examination two days ago, the report of which came on Monday. All the infected have been admitted to the Covid ward. He said that a total of 334 cases have been reported in the district, of which 146 have been infection free.
