The Netaji Subhash Place police station arrested the driver after illegally capturing a truck full of laborers transporting it from Shakurpur to Bihar. The driver caught has been identified as Furkan. Police have fired 64 workers in the truck. The workers say that the fare from Shakurpur to Bhagalpur has been paid 2500 rupees per person. After being hungry for many days, these workers also staged a protest in front of Shakurpur MLA’s office.
At present, the police have registered a case against the accused truck owner Rizwan Khan and driver Furkan under section 188/269/270/271 of IPC. Police is currently interrogating the accused. Police received information late Monday night at around 11.30 pm that some laborers were being illegally taken to Bihar. Police reached the spot and took the truck.
