May 21, 2020 – Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on Thursday waived a green flag to domestic flight operators to resume operation from May 25, barring physical check-in, meal services, and extra-baggage to their passengers.
The Ministry guidelines said, ‘’Passengers should be wearing masks from the time entering the airport till the completion of their journey. Inside the aircraft, no meals services are allowed. Water bottles will be made available in the gallery area or on the seats. No newspapers and magazines will be made available inside the flights or terminal area. At the boarding gate, the passengers would be provided with the safety kit, which includes a three-layer surgical mask, a face shield, and a hand sanitizer. ‘’
Meanwhile, passengers are allowed to access their boarding pass via web-check-in only. Also, the passenger’s luggage restriction is limited to a maximum of one carry-on and one cabin baggage, and they are required to download their tags online, said MoCA, in a press release statement.
As per the new guidelines, the aviation ministry has asked airlines to take a final call on the release of traveler’s boarding pass only after obtaining a self-declaration that they are not residing in a containment zone.
Civil Aviation Ministry flouts new rules for flight passengers which are as follows :
- Passengers to report airport 2 hours prior to their scheduled flight departure.
- Passengers are expected to certify their current health status via Aarogya Setu App or self-declaration form.
- No passengers are allowed to take flight if they are residing in a containment zone.
- Only web-check in is allowed.
- Baggage tags to be printed online.
- Face-mask essential while entering the airport.
- Maintain social distancing norms at the terminal, waiting areas, and airport lounges.
- No meal survive will be allowed. Passengers are allowed to carry meals on-board. Water bottles to be kept on every seat.
- No newspapers and magazines are allowed on-board.
