July 03, 2020 (Mumbai) Bollywood’s renowned choreographer Saroj Khan died of a cardiac arrest in a Mumbai hospital on Friday. She was 71.
Saroj Khan was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital at Bandra, Mumbai on June 17, 2020. She was admitted with breathing complaints and died of cardiac arrest at 1:52 AM IST early on Friday, July 3rd,2020. A test for COVID-19 gave a negative result.
Winner of three National Awards, Saroj Khan choreographed some of Bollywood’s most iconic dance hits – many of these starred actresses Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor, and Shilpa Shetty Kundra. With a career span of over forty years, she choreographed more than 2000 songs and is known as “The Mother of Dance/Choreography in India”.
Saroj Khan appeared on a reality dance show as a member of the jury in 2005 Nach Baliye. She also appeared in the second season of the same show.
Tributes to Saroj Khan were shared by the film fraternity after her sudden demise. ‘’She made the dance look easy almost like anybody can dance,’’ tweeted Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

Saroj Khan is survived by her husband B. Sohanlal, son Hamid Khan and daughters Hina Khan and Sukyna Khan.
