June 09, 2020 (New Delhi) – Search engine giant Google Inc to launch new features to its Maps service amid a pandemic outbreak that will alert users about COVID-19 related travel restriction, announced by the company in a blog post on Tuesday.
The newly added feature also provides information about the medical facility, transits, and more. The new update will allow users to check how crowded a train station might be at a particular time.
‘’The transit alerts feature will allow users to check how crowded a train station might be at a particular time or if buses are running on a limited schedule. This feature has been made available in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, France, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and the United States,’’ revealed the Alphabet Inc, Google’s subsidiary company in a blog post issued today.
In addition, the users would also get to know all the related details on COVID-19 checkpoints and cross-border restrictions. This newly entailed feature, as of now, would only be available in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
To avail of this new feature, users have to update their Google Map app from the Play Store. Users can simply head over to Google Play Store, search for Maps, and tap on the update button.
