President Ram Nath Kovind will donate 30 percent of his salary for one year in view of the Covid-19 crisis. This information was given by Rashtrapati Bhavan. It was also reported by Rashtrapati Bhavan that President Kovind postponed the proposal to purchase the limousine (car) used during the traditional ceremony.
Rashtrapati Bhavan told that Covid-19 is included in the steps taken in the wake of ceremonies, fewer guests at banquets, less use of flowers, cut in list of dishes, etc. The president will cut down on domestic visits and participate in fewer programs to maintain social distance and cut spending. President Kovind has asked the staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan to reduce the expenses and give the remaining money in the fight against Covid-19.
