    Lockdown 4.0: Curfew to continue till 07 AM – 7 PM, know what else the guidelines say

    Due to Corona virus, the fourth phase of Lockdown i.e. Lockdown 4.0 has been implemented across the country which will continue till May 31. Guidelines state that – ‘Except for essential activities, movement of people will be banned from 7 pm to 7 am in the entire country.’

    During this time, movement of people and inter-state transport has been allowed. However, all public functions, schools, malls and restaurants will remain closed, along with flights and metro services will be suspended.

    The Union Home Ministry has provided guidelines regarding what to do and what not to do during Lockdown 4.0. These guidelines were released soon after the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) extended the lockdown till the end of May on Sunday.

    According to these guidelines, people above 65 years of age, people suffering from more than one disease, pregnant women, children below 10 years will remain at home during lockdown 4.0.

    The Center has given the states the responsibility of determining the red, green and orange zones themselves. The states had demanded this during a meeting between the Chief Ministers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week.

    All domestic and international air travel will be banned except air ambulance.

    Inter-state movement of passenger vehicles and buses will be allowed with the consent of the states.

    Metro rail services, schools, colleges will remain closed till the end of May. All social, political, religious functions and places of worship including hotels, restaurants, cinema halls, malls, swimming pools, gyms will remain closed till 31 May.

    All shops, except the container zone shops and malls, will be allowed to open for the scheduled time from Monday. Local authorities will ensure that the rules are followed.

    The shops must ensure a distance of six feet between the customers. And no more than five people will be allowed to go to the shop at a time.

    To facilitate the movement of people, various modes of transport have already been opened which includes limited rail services from 11 May.

    Apart from this, transporting foreign nationals from India to their country, return of stranded Indian nationals from abroad, sign-on and sign-off of Indian sailors and transporting stranded persons within and outside the state by bus and train Will be allowed.

    Under these guidelines, it would be mandatory to cover the face, punishment for spitting can also be punished, and social distancing by all people in public places and transport will have to be followed.

    No more than 50 people can attend the wedding and more than 20 people in the funeral.

    Work from home should be done as far as possible and the working hours in all offices and establishments should be changed.

    In order to ensure security at offices and workplaces, employers should ensure that all employees’ mobiles have the Arogya Setu App.

    The Home Ministry said that the states and union territories will continue to strictly implement the lockdown guidelines and will not relax these guidelines issued under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

    The death toll in India due to COVID-19 has reached 2,872 and the total number of positive cases reached 90,927 by Sunday morning.
