July 30, 2020 (New Delhi) A ‘questionable transaction’ worth Rs 15 crore is under the suspicion to be probed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) into the Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, a source in the Bihar Police said on Thursday.
The agency has sought the details of the case filed by Bihar Police which allegedly involved the late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and his family.
Officials in the ED, on the condition of anonymity, said that the agency is looking for a possible investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Earlier this week, late actor Sushant Rajput’s father Krishna Kumar Singh (74) filed an FIR with Bihar Police against Rhea Chakraborty, her family members, and six other on the charges of fraud, conspiracy, and abetment to suicide of his son.
Earlier in a day, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition to transfer the death probe of Sushant Singh Rajput to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Sushant’s family has also approached the Supreme Court to hear their case before giving a decision on the Rhea Chakraborty’s petition to transfer the case filed by them from Patna to Mumbai. The Bihar government has backed the Sushant’s family petition.
Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found hanging in his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14.
More than 40 people have recorded the statement in the case, including actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, filmmaker Aaditya Chopra and many among others. Mumbai police are investigating the case over a series of allegations of professional rivalry and clinical depression that drove the actor to commit suicide.
