    Mumbai: The number of infected people rose to 29,100 after about 1,576 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Maharashtra till Saturday. According to the Health Department, the death toll has risen to 1,068 with 49 more patients killed in the last 24 hours. In 49, 36 people died in Mumbai. In addition, 933 out of 1,576 new cases of infection have been reported from Mumbai. According to BMC figures, the total corona cases in Mumbai have increased to 17 thousand 512. So far, 2 lakh 50 thousand 436 people have been investigated in the state.

    State recovery rate 22 percent

    The recovery rate from Corona in Maharashtra has reached 22 percent, while in Mumbai it is 25 percent. Every fourth corona patient in Mumbai is recovering. In Maharashtra, 2,758 patients have recovered and gone home in the last seven days, while in Mumbai, 1,799 patients have been cured in seven days. As of 14 May, 27,524 cases were reported in Maharashtra. After treatment, 6,059 of these patients recovered and went home. Among the suburbs adjoining Mumbai, Mira-Bhayander has the best recovery rate of 60 percent. Only 11 out of 81 patients have recovered in Ulhasnagar.

    The country’s first open hospital is ready

    The country’s first open hospital at MMRDA ground in BKC in Mumbai’s western suburb of Bandra area is almost ready. In this open hospital with 1008 beds, facilities for testing of patients, oxygen and medical facilities have been provided. This hospital can start on Saturday. Non-critical corona patients will be admitted to this hospital.

    Wankhede Stadium being prepared for Corona

    The Mumbai Cricket Association has started work on the plan to convert the Wankhede Stadium into a quarantine center. After receiving a letter from BMC in this regard, MCA officials are now preparing to approve the stadium to be a quarantine center. BMC Deputy Commissioner Harshad Kale said that a quarantine center of 800 beds will be built in the stadium. There is preparation to provide oxygen and other medical facilities here. BMC has also made the National Sports Club of India in Worli a quarantine center.

    Policemen attacked for asking to apply masks

    On being asked to apply masks under the Antop Hill Police Station of Zone 4, the locals attacked 4 policemen. These include one PSI and two SRPF personnel. All have been admitted to the local Galaxy Hospital. A case has been registered against 17 accused in this case. Two of them accused Wasim Ahmed (22) and Mo. Afzal Khan (32) has been arrested.

    Two Coordination Committees for Hospitals

    For better coordination between government and private hospitals, two committees have been formed at the state and district levels.     Ambulance will be made for 250 buses

    To overcome the shortage of ambulances to take corona patients to hospitals and high risk contacts to quarantine centers, BMC has decided to make 250 buses as ambulances. These include 50 Best Buses and 200 Mini Buses. Additional Commissioner P. Velarasu said that half of these ambulances are ready. The rest will be ready by Saturday. These ambulances will be controlled from the disaster control room and will be approved from there.

    Another policeman died of corona infection

    A 57-year-old Mumbai police officer died of a corona infection late in the evening. Mumbai Police has given this information through its official Twitter account. According to the tweet, Madhukar Mane, who was part of Corona’s High Risk Age group, was on leave for the last 15 days. Mumbai Police has expressed grief while giving information about his death. Explain that till now 10 employees of Maharashtra Police have died due to corona infection.

    Three arrested for threatening nurses

    Three people have been arrested for allegedly threatening a nurse at a Kovid-19 hospital in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, for allegedly not using a particular path to the locality. Officials of MIDC Cidco Police Station said that the incident occurred on Monday midnight. He said that the nurses working in a Kovid-19 hospital were asked not to use a particular road by Karbhari Hiwale, Suresh Kale and Yogesh Kavade. The accused have been arrested and booked under other sections including sexual harassment and criminal intimidation.
