July 28, 2020 (New Delhi)BSP supremo Mayawati today said that Rajasthan’s CM Ashok Gehlot has ‘’unconstitutionally merged their six MLAs with the state Congress to form the government, for she waited for long to teach Congress party a lesson.
Mayawati added that her party could have knocked the doors of court earlier but she waited for the right opportunity.
‘’In Rajasthan, we have given unconditional support to Congress. Unfortunately, CM Gelot’s intention was to malign our party’s image. He merged all our six MLAs in his party unlawfully. He did this in his previous tenure too,’’ said Mayawati in an interview with ANI.
‘’We were waiting for the right time as waiting for the right time to teach Congress party a lesson. We will take this matter in court. We will even approach the Supreme Court,’’ she added.
On Sunday, BSP issued a notice to its six MLAs in Rajasthan asking to vote against Congress if the floor test takes place in Rajasthan Assembly.
The elected MLAs in Rajasthan from the BSP includes – R Gudha, Deep Chand, Wajib Ali, Sandeep Kumar, JS Awana, and Lakhan Singh.
Rajasthan government is on the brink of collapse after differences between Deputy CM Sachin Pilot and Gehlot came out in open. Sachin was sacked from the Deputy CM post and the state chief of Congress in Rajasthan.
