The Border Security Force (BSF) constituted the Court of Inquiry in the case of firing on fellow jawans by the head constable at IG’s house in Churachandpur district of Manipur. On Sunday, a head constable posted in the security of IG’s bungalow shot his partner and committed suicide.

According to the information, the incident took place on Sunday morning. Head constable Balakishan, posted at BSF’s Assistant Training Center (STC), was posted under the protection of IG DK Tripathi’s bungalow. During this time, he fired at the constable prince with his service rifle, which was directly in the lower abdomen.

The constable entered the IG’s house and opened fire

After this, the head constable entered inside the bungalow and opened fire on IG’s cook. However, he bent down in time and saved his life. IG Tripathi was having breakfast at the time of the incident. On hearing the sound of the bullet, they ran inside and locked themselves in the bathroom with their security personnel. But the head constable entered inside and fired several rounds at the bathroom door as well.

Head constable shot himself

Security personnel rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was received. But by then the head constable had shot himself and died. However, IG, his cook and security personnel survived the attack safely. Why the head constable took this step is not known at the moment. Investigation has been started in this case by registering an FIR.
