The first special train carrying around 1,000 passengers from New Delhi arrived in Kerala and seven of them were taken to Kovid-19 care centers and hospitals as they had some symptoms of the disease during screening. Officials gave this information on Friday. Except for these seven passengers, all others were sent for further travel by taxis and buses provided by the district administration and would have to remain in isolation in their homes for 14 days. Of the seven passengers who were found to be symptomatic, six landed in Kozhikode and one landed here.
Officials said that the fully air-conditioned capital Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Superfast train arrived here at 5.10 am on Friday. The train stopped at two stations en route Kozhikode and Ernakulam South, where more than 560 passengers alighted from the train. At least 350 passengers arrived here and a team of doctors and health officials and railway employees wearing security equipment medically examined all the passengers. A senior district official told PTI, “One person was taken to the hospital after he noticed some symptoms.” The remaining passengers were sent to their homes.
