New Delhi: The Indian Army may soon allow ordinary citizens the opportunity to join the army for three years. Quoting military sources, the news agency said on Wednesday that the army is considering a proposal for a ‘tour of duty’. If everything is correct, it can be announced soon. Under the proposal, the candidate who is selected under the Tour of Duty will have to serve in the army for three years. More information about the proposal is yet to come. The army spokesman confirmed the proposal. Under this scheme, the army wants to attract the talented youth of the country. Through this scheme, those youth will also be able to join the army, who for some reason were not able to join earlier. There is a shortage of good officers in the army of the country. The army wants to fill this shortfall under this plan.
Recruitment is done through SSC for up to 10 years
At present, through the Short Service Commission (SSC), the youth are given the opportunity to join the army for the lowest 10 years. Earlier, the youth recruited through it had a tenure of 5 years, which was later reduced to 10 years.
