The number of cases of corona virus infection in the country has reached close to 80,000. The death toll from the infection has crossed 2,500. So far, more than 26,000 people have recovered from it. After the graph of infection cases is flat in states like Kerala, Goa and Assam, now suddenly cases are starting to come here. At the same time, the rate of infection has increased in the last few days in Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar. According to officials, most of the new cases in these areas are related to people returning from outside by special trains, buses and flights. A large number of cases of Kovid-19 are coming from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and the national capital.
However, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that the rate of doubling of cases of corona virus infection has improved to 13.9 days in the last three days from 11.1 in the last 14 days. He also said that now the capacity to test one lakh samples per day has been developed and so far about 20 lakh samples of Covid-19 have been tested in the country.
Doubling rate increased to 13.9 days
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Thursday that the rate of doubling of cases of corona virus infection has slowed down to 13.9 days in the last three days. At the same time, India’s capacity to test Covid-19 has been 100,000 tests per day and so far about 20 lakh tests have been done. The minister said that not a single case of corona virus infection has been reported in the last 24 hours in 13 states and union territories.
These states are Gujarat, Telgana, Jharkhand, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Puducherry.
No cases have been reported so far from Daman and Diu, Sikkim, Nagaland and Lakshadweep.
“It is a matter of pleasure that the rate of doubling of cases of corona virus infection has slowed to 13.9 days in the last three days from 11.1 in the last 14 days,” the Health Ministry statement quoted Harsh Vardhan as saying.
On this occasion, he dedicated the Cobas 6800 test machine to the country. In the context of increasing testing capacity, the minister said, “We have now developed the capability to test one lakh samples per day. Today is an important day as we have so far conducted more than 500 labs (359 government and 145 private) in the country. About 20 lakh samples of Kovid-19 have been tested. “
He told that the Cobas 6800 machine is the first fully automated state-of-the-art machine, which gives the result of PCR test of Covid-19 at the same time. The government has bought this machine and it has been installed in NCDC.
