Sipahi Raj Singh Khatana, a resident of Damdama, Gurgaon, was killed during an encounter with Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Tahir Ahmad Bhat in an encounter with security forces in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The army received information about the arrival of terrorist Tahir in Khotra village of Doda on Saturday night. All security agencies surrounded a house. The terrorists hiding inside started firing. Rajsingh injured in this action died on the way to hospital. His body will reach the village on Monday afternoon.
Shaheed Raj Singh was the eldest of three brothers. He left behind two daughters and a son. Raj Singh’s elder son is ten years old. About 9 years ago, he was recruited in the army through sports quota. Raj Singh’s father was also in the army. As soon as the family was informed of Raj Singh’s martyrdom, mourning prevailed in the village and home. Family members are in a state of disarray.

Operation was started after intelligence was received
The Doda Police and Army team received an intelligence report that Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Farooq, who hails from Kulgam, has arrived in Doda. On the basis of this information, late night, personnel of RR Battalion and Central Reserve Police of Jammu and Kashmir Police Army cordoned the Gundna area of Doda. As soon as the encounter between the terrorists and the security forces started, firing started from both sides. Meanwhile, Raj Singh was injured and died.
