Due to the nationwide lockdown, 13.5 lakh migrant workers and workers from different states of the country have returned to Uttar Pradesh through trains, buses and other vehicles. The state government gave this information on Friday. Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Information) Avnish Kumar Awasthi claimed on Friday that this number is a record in itself. Awasthi said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to migrant workers and workers not to come on foot or bicycle or on trucks. Train and bus have been arranged for them. They came by the same means.
He informed that 380 trains have arrived in the state from different parts of the country till this time. Six and a half lakh people have come to the state from March 1 to April 30. About four lakh 70 thousand people came by train. Awasthi said, “More than 1.5 lakh people have come from private vehicles. So far, 13 lakh 50 thousand people have arrived in the state. ”He said that these people have been taken to different habitat centers in different districts.
Awasthi said, “Today, trains are running from Noida and Ghaziabad. The Bihar government has given consent. Today some trains from Ghaziabad and Noida are running especially for Purvanchal. “Awasthi said that nine thousand 267 buses of roadways have been installed to take people home. A total of 11964 buses have been installed by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) for migrant workers returning home
