Migrant laborers in Shapar Industrial Area ransacked vehicles on Sunday. After the cancellation of labor special trains going to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, the workers created a ruckus. Vehicles were stopped on the road and stones were broken. SP Balram Meena of Rajkot (Rural) has said that action will be taken against those involved in this incident.
Meanwhile, in Chakghat area of Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, migrant laborers broke barricades in the presence of police. The workers were going to Uttar Pradesh. Chakghat is on the Uttar Pradesh-Madhya Pradesh border.
In the past, the police had to lathicharge in Surat
Incidents of uproar of migrant laborers are coming to the fore in Gujarat for the demand of going home. Earlier this happened in Surat on 4 May. In Vareli area, migrant laborers came on the road and stoned demanding to go home. The police reached the spot were also pelted with stones, after which the police had to baton charge and release tear gas shells.
There was an uproar in the Diamond Bourse last month
On April 28, workers created a ruckus in Asia’s largest diamond bores being prepared in Khajod, Gujarat. Despite the lockdown, there was anger among the workers from going to work. They threw stones at the Boers office. They said that food is not available, so they want to go home. Around 4 thousand laborers work in Diamond Bores.
