    Indian Government give NCDC COBAS 6800 machine for coronavirus testing

    LThere is good news about Coronavirus Testing in the country. A special machine COBAS 6800 has been brought in for maximum investigation of Coronavirus. This machine has been handed over by the Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC). Apart from this, the number of trials to deal with Corona (COVID-19) in the country has reached 20 lakhs. Every day 1 lakh samples are also being investigated. In addition to the corona test 504 government labs are also being done in private labs.

    There will be so many samples in one day

    At the NCDC center, at present, this new technology will be tested by the machine itself. The special thing is that with the help of this machine, 1200 sample tests will be done every day. Actually, this machine can test multiple samples at once. The COBAS 6800 machine requires at least BSL2 and control level labs for testing. This machine cannot be placed at any facility. COBAS 6800 can detect symptoms of diseases such as viral hepatitis B & C, HIV, MTB, papilloma, CMV, chlamydia and neceremia.

    Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, ‘This machine is robotics. In such a situation, health workers will not be at risk of infection. With this, more test results will also be available in a short time. He further said, “The rate of doubling of cases of corona virus infection has slowed down to 13.9 days in the last three days.”

    Cases of corona infection in the country are steadily increasing. According to the data released by the Ministry of Health, the number of corona virus infected in the country has reached 81,970. The number of people who recover from this is 27,920 and the death toll is 2,649.
